In 2010, we sent seventy-six children to camp.

¨ Every 5th grader who attended last year was invited to return a second year for a 2-week camp experience.

¨ Every 4th grader who qualifies for the free lunch program  was invited for a 1-week camp experience.

Children with special needs or requests can be accommodated and are encouraged to apply. Friends or siblings who want to attend together can indicate their preference in the appropriate space on the registration form.

We believe that every young life should be enriched by the camp experience. The mission of Summer Camp Scholarships is to make this opportunity available to all children in Washtenaw County, Michigan, regardless of income. We are currently focusing exclusively on the Willow Run Community Schools because of it’s high percentage of low-income families. Using eligibility for the federal free school lunch program as qualification, SCS matches
